New Releases from Third Window Films
Be My Baby – 25 May 2015
Directed by Hitoshi Ohne (Love Strikes!), this film was made by an actors’ workshop featuring all newcomers, and was made in just four days for a budget of less than $10,000. Focusing on the lives of its directionless and down-and-out lives of young Tokyoites, Be My Baby is based an original story and script by one of Japan’s most sought-after playwrights, Daisuke Miura. Retaining the theatrical essence of a Miura production, the multi-layered film provides a fascinating insight into youth subcultures in Japan.
Dir. Hitoshi Ohne, 2012
Fukuchan of Fukufuku Flats – 13 July 2015
Directed and written by by Yosuke Fujita (Fine, Totally Fine), this film is the first UK-Germany-Italy-Taiwan-Japan coproduction of its kind, and stars Miyuki Oshima as Tasuo Fukuda, known as ‘Fuku-chan’, a painter living in a run-down apartment complex called Fukufuku Flats.
Dir. Yosuke Fujita, 2014
